1.Overview of the Special Gas System:
Special gases are delivered through gas cylinder cabinets (GC) or gas cylinder racks (GR) or bulk special gas supply systems (BSGS\R) via stainless steel pipes or stainless steel double pipes (SS316L EP or SS316L EP+SS316L BA) to special gas distribution boxes or panels—VMB/VMP. The above delivery process is part of the main special gas system supply; VMB/P is delivered to the final supply equipment through stainless steel pipes or stainless steel double pipes (SS316L EP or SS316L EP+SS316L BA), which belongs to the secondary special gas distribution supply.
2. The special gas system mainly consists of three parts:
- Gas Cylinder Cabinet (GC) or Gas Cylinder Rack (GR) or Bulk Specialty Gas Supply System (BSGS\R): The source of the specialty gas system, providing continuous, uninterrupted, and stable-pressure specialty gases to the workshop;
- Gas distribution box or plate—VMB/VMP: Primarily used for the distribution of special gases, capable of meeting the pressure requirements of different machines;
- Process Equipment: The ultimate demand point for special gases;
3. Common switching conditions for equipment:
- All gas cylinder cabinets automatically switch between left and right cylinders without interruption, and will automatically stop gas supply in an emergency. Forced gas supply can also be achieved with a manual dial switch.
- For special gases in gaseous form within the cylinder, the real-time pressure of the gas in the cylinder is monitored through a pressure sensor or pressure switch. When the cylinder pressure reaches a low set point, the cylinder will switch from one side to the other and send an alarm to the central monitoring system.
- For special gases in liquid form within the cylinder, the weight of the cylinder is monitored in real-time using a floor scale. When the cylinder weight reaches a low set point, it will switch from one side to the other and send an alarm to the central monitoring system. If there is a problem with the floor scale, it will automatically switch to the other side and send an alarm to the central monitoring system.
- Things to Note:
The gas in the cylinder cannot be used up completely; about 10% must be left in reserve
·Gas cylinder: 10% x full cylinder pressure
·Liquid steel cylinder: 10% x net weight of full cylinder + cylinder tare weight (recommended) or 70% x full cylinder pressure
